DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Engage in designated projects under the close guidance of a mentor or supervisor.
- Observe the operations within the assigned department or unit.
- Support the mentor or supervisor with daily responsibilities.
- Actively contribute to safety and environmental initiatives.
- Maintain a journal documenting work and activities.
- Prepare and deliver a presentation to the management team.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Completion of at least the second year of college is required.
- A major in Chemical Engineering is necessary.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required.
- Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship is essential.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
In performing the responsibilities of this role, the individual is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, utilize hands for various tasks, reach with arms, and communicate verbally. Occasionally, the individual may need to stoop, kneel, or crouch. Specific vision capabilities necessary for this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. This role also requires making general decisions that necessitate judgment and performing tasks that require sustained concentration.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The noise level in the workplace can vary, being moderate in office settings, while some tasks may take place in operational units requiring personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and hearing protection. There may also be exposure to outdoor elements, necessitating the use of stairs and elevators. Occasional travel, including air and auto travel, may be required.

Positions are available at various Westlake PEM plant locations throughout the United States.
