Position Overview:
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to engage in exciting projects within the Power Generation and Renewable sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the electrical design team on significant institutional and industrial projects during the schematic design and contract documentation phases.
- Organize and participate in review meetings with internal and client teams.
- Manage project workloads to ensure timely completion of tasks while balancing multiple priorities.
- Conduct on-site work sessions alongside the Project Manager and other disciplines.
- Examine electrical documents for conflicts with other disciplines and coordinate solutions to achieve a comprehensive design.
- Draft and edit electrical specifications, selecting appropriate equipment and systems to meet project needs.
- Collaborate with other disciplines on addenda, RFIs, CPRs, and change orders, ensuring all modifications are reflected in project documents.
- Possess knowledge of system protection functions and controls in generation and industrial power distribution systems.
- Provide support for construction contract administration as required.
- Conduct quality assurance and quality control on the work of other electrical engineers and technicians.
- Perform additional duties as necessary.
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience in electrical design for buildings, including lighting, power, and systems.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and electrical design software.
- A commitment to actively participating in our employee-owned culture.
- At least 5 years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
- Experience in protection and control design, including drawing and settings development.
- Field experience, particularly in startup and commissioning.
- Strong knowledge of electrical design software (ETAP, SKM, etc.).
- Experience in renewable energy projects, including PV and BESS, as well as microgrid initiatives.
- Instrumentation and Controls experience, especially with DCS and PLC systems.
- Willingness to travel less than 10% for client and vendor meetings, as well as project site visits.
