Magnet Medical is seeking a skilled Travel Mammography Imaging Specialist to join their team in California.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Mammography Technologist to fill a travel position. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures for detecting breast abnormalities using mammography equipment.

About the Job
  • Estimated Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per year
  • This 13-week contract includes 40 hours per week of work and offers a competitive tax-free stipend.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience with digital mammograms and breast ultrasound procedures.
Responsibilities
  1. Perform High-Quality Mammograms: Position and prepare patients for mammography exams, operate mammography equipment to capture clear images, and ensure proper compression of the breast during imaging.
  2. Patient Care and Comfort: Greet patients, explain the procedure, and answer questions; educate patients on the importance of mammograms and breast health; reassure patients during the exam and monitor for discomfort or issues.
  3. Quality Control and Image Evaluation: Review mammograms for clarity and completeness, ensure images meet diagnostic standards, and work closely with radiologists to produce high-quality images.
  4. Equipment Maintenance and Safety: Ensure proper operation of mammography equipment, troubleshoot technical issues, and perform routine maintenance and cleaning following safety protocols and manufacturer guidelines.
  5. Record Keeping and Documentation: Maintain patient records, document relevant information, and log procedures and images into the Electronic Health Records system.
  6. Collaboration with Medical Team: Communicate effectively with radiologists and physicians regarding images that require further attention, assist in explaining test results to patients, and work closely with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
  7. Adherence to Safety and Regulatory Standards: Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, follow radiation safety protocols, and adhere to ACR and FDA guidelines for mammography procedures and safety.
Requirements
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in Mammography;
  • Current state license to practice as a Mammography Technologist;
  • Experience with digital mammography equipment and breast ultrasound procedures;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Familiarity with Electronic Health Records systems.
