About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Nursing Assistant Trainee at the Kennebunk Center for Health & Rehabilitation. As a Nursing Assistant Trainee, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents, working closely with our experienced healthcare professionals to develop essential skills in providing care to our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage in training programs to gain knowledge of healthcare protocols and procedures
  • Learn and apply fundamental nursing skills under supervision
  • Assist nursing staff in providing daily care to residents
  • Support residents with activities of daily living, including bathing and grooming
  • Collaborate with the care team to ensure the well-being of residents
Requirements
  • Must be able to commit to a full-time course, (Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm) for 6 weeks
  • Must have excellent attendance, reliable transportation, be consistently dependable
  • Must be able to stand, bend, lift, work all day
  • Need to have a good understanding of what a CNA does (full care / bathing / changing / bodily fluids etc)
  • After graduation, must be able to work days, evenings, or must cover 2 weekends per month
  • Must commit to working in our Center for 1 year Full-time after getting CNA license
  • There is a course fee payback requirement if required year is not met

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Interest in the nursing needs of the aged and the chronically ill with the ability to work with both
  • Passion for healthcare and a desire to learn and grow in a Long-Term Care setting
  • Compassionate and empathetic nature
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
