Apparel Sorter

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Apparel Sorter to join our team at Alabama Goodwill Industries Inc. As an Apparel Sorter, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and quantity of our store's apparel inventory.

• Sort and quality select apparel and soft line goods into salable and salvage categories
• Ensure 100% donor and customer delight by providing excellent customer service
• Stay abreast of brand names, designer labels, current and vintage styles, and price points for soft line goods
• Identify and separate items that are torn, stained, wet, smelly, soiled, broken, or missing parts
• Meet sort count goals and maintain a clean and organized sorting and processing area
• Assist with pricing, tagging, and transporting of apparel as needed
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with team members, customers, and clients

• Ability to perform basic math skills and maintain a positive, friendly attitude
• Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
• Regular attendance at the job, requiring teamwork and interaction with others
• Ability to work under general supervision and adapt to changing priorities
• Must be willing and able to work evenings and weekends

• Able to bend, reach, and stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds regularly and up to 40 pounds occasionally
• Manual dexterity is required
