Medical Technologist Position for a Regional Medical Center

Job Summary
TriStar Horizon Medical Center is seeking a skilled Medical Technologist to join our team. This role plays a crucial part in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.
Responsibilities
- The Medical Technologist will collect and prepare specimens, perform laboratory procedures, and verify lab results in an accurate and timely manner.
- This position requires extensive knowledge of human physiology and the changes that occur due to disease relevant to the testing section.
- The Medical Technologist will follow established laboratory procedures for specimen handling, test analysis, reporting, and maintaining patient records.
- This role involves performing various laboratory tests on specimens, evaluating test results, and reporting or entering them into the Laboratory Information System.
- The individual must be able to identify problems affecting test performance or result reporting and either correct the issue or notify the coordinator, management, or medical director immediately.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in a chemical/physical/biological or life science with relevant clinical laboratory experience within the last five years.
- Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in laboratory medical technology with clinical rotation.
- National registration as an MLS(ASCP)cm, MT(ASCP), or equivalent (e.g., AMT, AAB, HEW), or registry-eligible at date of hire.
- If not held at date of hire, national certification must be obtained within six months of employment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills are necessary to interact successfully with staff, patients, patient families, and vendors.
Benefits and Work Environment
TriStar Horizon Medical Center offers a competitive salary of $65,000 - $85,000 per year, based on experience. The center provides a full array of services, including cardiology, diagnostic imaging, emergency care, inpatient rehabilitation, oncology, orthopedics, and women's services. We are an Accredited Chest Pain Center and Primary Stroke Center, offering 24/7 emergency heart and stroke care.
