Job Summary:We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at St Michael Medical Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for evaluating, administering, and documenting respiratory therapy treatments to patients with heart and lung abnormalities. Your expertise will be essential in setting up and monitoring complex respiratory equipment, performing routine respiratory therapy treatments, and monitoring patients for adverse reactions.
Responsibilities:
• Evaluate and assess the cardiopulmonary condition of patients using data acquired from physical examination, respiratory monitoring, and diagnostic equipment.
• Continuously evaluate and assess the cardiopulmonary condition of patients using data acquired from physical examination, respiratory monitoring, and diagnostic equipment.
• Document all work activity in applicable computer systems, including billing charges, in accordance with department-specific processes.
• Participate in the transfer of equipment and supplies to and from other Cardiopulmonary Departments as necessary; clean, assemble, and maintain CPS equipment and restock supplies as needed.
Qualifications:
• Requires graduation from an approved school of Respiratory Therapy and one (1) year recent clinical experience in Respiratory Care that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Work experience in the specialty area is preferred.
• License to practice as a respiratory care practitioner through the Washington State Department of Health is required.
• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) through the National Board of Respiratory Care is required.
• Current healthcare provider BLS Certification is required.
• Respiratory Therapists currently working in hyperbaric medicine will attend a Certified Hyperbaric Training course within 90 days and will be required to obtain the Certified Hyperbaric Technician (CHT) within 120 days.
• New hires in Hyperbaric Medicine, upon completion of the 90-day introductory period, will attend the Certified Hyperbaric Training course. After completion of the course, and an additional 480 hours of on-the-job training, will be required to obtain the Certified Hyperbaric Technician (CHT) license.
• Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.
