Job SummaryAs a Child/Adolescent Psychiatrist at Cumberland River Behavioral Health, Inc., you will provide clinical interventions and assume administrative responsibilities for the consumers of our organization. You will be a member of a multi-disciplinary team responsible for providing on-going assessment, crisis resolution/disposition, and behavioral health services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct assessments and determine clinical interventions for assigned consumers, including children and adolescents.
  • Evaluate, assess, prescribe, and monitor medications within accepted sound medical protocols.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans based on assessment data and sound knowledge of professional practice and principles of the discipline.
  • Provide care based on ethical concepts, adhering to established standards of practice, and engage in activities or behaviors that characterize professionalism.
  • Provide supervision to Advanced Practice Registered Nurses and conduct staffing to assist and/or provide diagnosis and case consultation.
  • Ensure the accuracy, content, and completeness of client files and provide services within time requirements as set forth in Agency policies and procedures.
  • Refrain from assuming any duty that is unrelated to and/or interferes with the responsibilities of the position.
  • Respond to emergency situations in a timely fashion and demonstrate the ability to work effectively with other team members, as part of a multidisciplinary team, and independently, when necessary.

Requirements
  • Doctorate of Medicine with a specialty of Psychiatry and eligibility for Board Certification.
  • Doctorate of Medicine with a specialty of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry from an accredited school and meet Licensure Requirements for the Kentucky Board of Medicine.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment, tact, diplomacy, and compassion when problem-solving, handling conflict, or in a crisis situation.
  • Ability to complete record-keeping in a timely fashion and get along with diverse personalities and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Knowledgeable of Behavioral Health Concepts and how to incorporate concepts into practical application.

Work EnvironmentThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions, may be off-site from normal office location, or placed at a Residential Program. The noise level in the work environment is mild to moderate.
