Job Summary

Randstad is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Geomatics Crew Chief to lead our land survey team in West Henrietta, NY. As a direct hire opportunity, this position offers a challenging and rewarding career path for a motivated and detail-oriented individual.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily field operations of a land survey crew, ensuring efficient data acquisition and project completion.
  • Determine the most effective plan of action for data acquisition, including primary control, construction layout, and as-built surveys.
  • Document work performed and sketches, maintaining accurate and detailed records.
  • Communicate daily with Project Surveyor and technician regarding project schedule and work progress.
  • Interact professionally with client representatives and land owners, ensuring excellent customer service.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings/specifications, understanding all aspects of land survey project specifications and tolerances.
  • Prepare daily reports, time sheets, and other required paperwork, maintaining a high level of organization and attention to detail.
  • Maintain land surveying vehicle and field equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of industry experience, with prior crew chief experience preferred.
  • Competent operating total stations, GNSS receivers, data collectors, and tablet PCs.
  • Experience with Trimble equipment is preferred.
  • Strong computer and technical skills, with proficiency in software applications.
  • Strong communication skills, including listening, writing, and verbal communication.
  • Proven work history, strong work ethic, and team-player attitude.
  • Ability to travel for extended periods and work in all-weather climates.
  • Ability to walk long distances through various terrains and carry up to 80lbs.
  • Valid driver's license required.
Benefits
  • Competitive salary range: $52,000 - $83,200 per year.
  • First shift, 8 AM - 5 PM work hours.
  • High school education required.
