Job Title: Plumber Licensed Supervisor

The Kentucky Department of Corrections (DOC) is seeking a skilled Plumber Licensed Supervisor to join our team at the Eastern Kentucky Correctional Complex.

Job Summary:

The Plumber Licensed Supervisor will be responsible for supervising and assisting offenders in daily maintenance, repair, and installation of plumbing facilities and fixtures while maintaining a safe and secure working environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and assist offenders in daily maintenance, repair, and installation of plumbing facilities and fixtures.
  • Alter and maintain existing plumbing systems and fixtures as well as plan any necessary installations of new systems and fixtures to meet institutional needs.
  • Inspect, determine, and acquire all inputs, materials, and tools necessary to complete alterations and repairs of institutional plumbing systems.
  • Complete daily tool inventories, address institutional work orders, and prepare offender timesheets.
  • Order parts and materials necessary to complete assigned institutional plumbing repairs and new installations.
  • Maintain an institutional service vehicle used to address facility repairs and installations.
  • Prepare reports and attend trainings as required to best meet the needs of the institution.
Requirements:
  • Must be licensed as a master plumber by the Department of Housing, Buildings, and Construction.
  • Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this classification.
Working Conditions:

Work is performed primarily indoors.

Probationary Period:

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS.
