We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Nurse Specialist to join our team at Memorial Health University Medical Center. As a key member of our surgical team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms.
Key Responsibilities- Provide Professional Surgical Nursing Care: Utilize the nursing process to deliver high-quality patient care, collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes.
- Ensure Effective Communication: Maintain open and clear communication with surgical technologists, registered nurses, surgeons, patients, and their families, as well as other members of the surgical team.
- Assist in Emergency Procedures: Provide assistance in emergency situations, as well as elective and scheduled cases, to ensure the best possible care for our patients.
- Work with Surgical Teams: Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure that patients receive the highest level of care, and that all procedures are carried out in a safe and efficient manner.
- Maintain a Sterile Operating Room: Ensure that the operating room is maintained in a sterile and safe environment, and that all equipment and supplies are properly stored and maintained.
- Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program: Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing, with an Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher.
- Current BLS Certification: Must hold current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification.
- Minimum of 1 Year Perioperative Nursing Experience: Strong preference for candidates with a minimum of 1 year of experience in perioperative nursing.
Memorial Health University Medical Center is a 600+ bed hospital that serves 35 counties across southeast Georgia and southern South Carolina. We are a regional referral center for heart care, cancer care, trauma care, children's care, high-risk pregnancies, and high-risk newborn care. Our hospital includes the region's only Level I trauma center and children's hospital, as well as the Savannah campus of Mercer University School of Medicine.
