Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our Surgical Services team at HSHS St. Vincent Hospital. This position plays a vital role in supporting the surgical team by providing comprehensive intraoperative care to patients in the operating room.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and monitor surgical instruments and equipment.
- Assist in maintaining a sterile environment throughout surgical procedures.
- Support patient transfer and positioning during surgeries.
- Perform various surgical tasks and procedures as required.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Completion of a recognized surgical technology program or military training in surgical technology is required.
- High School Diploma or GED with three years of experience as a Surgical Technologist may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- An Associate's degree in surgical technology is preferred.
Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
This position falls under the Allied Health category and requires the ability to perform various physical tasks associated with surgical support.
