We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Specialist to join our Neuroscience team at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care and support services in an in-patient or out-patient environment.
- Interview patients, take vital signs, and perform activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Maintain supplies and equipment, and transport patients as needed.
- Assist with patient orientation, and position patients unable to perform self-care.
- Document patient information and vital signs in the Electronic Medical Record.
- Participate in educational programs and workshops to enhance professional growth and development.
Requirements:
- High School or GED Equivalent.
- Certificate in Nursing or Emergency Medical Technology.
- 6 months of patient care experience.
- CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider certification.
Working Conditions:
- Heavy Work: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects or people.
- Significant Hazard: Chemicals, Bio Hazardous Materials requiring Personal Protective Equipment.
