Music Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled Music Therapist to join our team at Heartsong Inc. as a Primary Music Therapist. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing music therapy services to children and adults with special needs.

• Plan, implement, and execute therapeutic music activities for weekly sessions.
• Establish and maintain a therapeutic environment that facilitates development toward therapeutic goals.
• Conduct clinical groups of no more than 5 clients for a maximum of 45 minutes per session.
• Be thoroughly familiar with participants' disabilities, behaviors, medications, and any other developmental or functional issues that can impact the therapeutic process.
• Ensure proper supervision of all groups.
• Report any incidents occurring during service time.
• Start and end groups according to established schedule.
• Set up a safe environment for clients and colleagues.

• Keep parents informed of any changes in program that could impact clinical sessions.
• Discuss with parents/guardians any issues relevant to the clinical work.
• Conduct a formal, scheduled annual conference with parents/guardians to review goals and objectives.

• Direct volunteers during clinical sessions to optimize therapeutic environment.
• Interview and supervise student(s) and complete proper documentation.
• Supervise processing of all paperwork to the Heartsong main office.

• Prepare weekly progress notes for each client.
• Conduct assessments and complete forms as needed for follow through with clinical team.
• Set goals and objectives for each client.
• Report any incidents occurring during service time.

• Participate in required administrative, clinical, and planning meetings.
• Leave treatment facility in an organized and clean condition.
• Be responsible for all Heartsong equipment.
• Coordinate with Clinical Director to replace/purchase equipment and supplies for treatment sessions.
