ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

BRAND AMBASSADOR AND CUSTOMER SERVICE

Welcomes every JOANN customer and utilizes the F.A.S.T. service model to address customer needs.

Inquires with open-ended questions to understand customers' project requirements and guides them to the appropriate product locations.

Engages in friendly discussions with customers regarding their projects while assisting them at the cutting counter, cash register, and sales floor.

OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE

Handles customer transactions at the cutting counter and cash register efficiently and courteously, maintaining professionalism and accuracy.

Assists in unloading merchandise from delivery trucks and organizes items on shelves and racks. Moves products from the receiving area to the sales floor as necessary.

Stocks shelves according to the planogram while ensuring high productivity and meticulous attention to detail.

Maintains cleanliness and organization throughout the sales floor by tidying shelves, processing returns, and promptly addressing spills or messes.

Required to enter and exit delivery truck beds to retrieve freight.

Unloads merchandise from trucks and sorts it according to company protocols.

BUSINESS ACUMEN

Encourages customer participation in store events such as educational classes and custom framing.

Proactively enhances sales through product expertise, suggestive selling, innovative merchandising, and building strong customer relationships with the JOANN brand.

Works to minimize inventory loss by adhering to established policies and procedures, including transaction accuracy and inventory management.

INSPIRATIONAL LEADER

Supports fellow Team Members in tasks to ensure the team surpasses expectations set by Store Management.

Collaborates with Store Management and other Team Members on various projects in a friendly and professional manner.

Assists in training new Team Members on register operations, fabric cutting, stocking procedures, and customer service practices.

QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.

No prior experience required; 1-3 years of experience in a customer-focused environment preferred.

Part-time status requires availability that aligns with store needs. Part-time Team Members typically work less than 30 hours per week on average, as defined by JOANN, with no guaranteed hours. Open availability is defined as the ability to work any hours required, including days, evenings, weekends, overnight shifts, and holidays.

Full-time status necessitates open availability and the ability to work an average of 36 hours per week over the course of a year. Team Members meeting these criteria are eligible for benefits within the Company’s full-time benefits program.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to stand for an entire shift (excluding normal break time).

Must continuously walk around all areas of the store throughout the shift.

Must read written instructions, reports, and other information on paper and computer screens.

Must communicate orally with customers and other team members consistently throughout the shift.

Must input data on computer keyboards and handheld devices.

Must use two-way radios (hear incoming messages and provide verbal responses).

Must push/pull merchandise using appropriate equipment (carts, bins, etc.) to and from the backroom and sales floor.

Must lift, place, and arrange items on shelves and racks.

Must bend down and reach above head.

Must climb and descend ladders.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and group lift items weighing over 50 pounds.
