Infectious Disease Forecasting Postdoctoral Researcher

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled postdoctoral researcher to join our team in the Center for Ecology of Infectious Diseases (CEID) at the University of Georgia. The successful candidate will work on research projects related to infectious disease forecasting, with a focus on developing and applying advanced statistical and computational methods to predict and understand the spread of infectious diseases.
Key Responsibilities- Design and conduct research in infectious disease forecasting, including developing and applying advanced statistical and computational methods.
- Write scholarly articles and present research at CEID events and external meetings.
- Assist with collaborative projects, including the forecasting working group and CEID-initiated research proposals.
The ideal candidate will have a PhD in Ecology or a related field, with a strong background in infectious disease research and a demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. The candidate should also have strong quantitative skills and experience with programming languages such as R or Python.
What We OfferThe CEID Postdoctoral Scholar will have access to world-class faculty and research scientists, technical support for computational projects, and the opportunity to participate in CEID activities, including workshops, seminars, collaborative projects, and working groups. The selected individual will also have the opportunity to take a leadership role in an existing working group or form a new working group based on research areas of interest to the individual and other CEID members.
