Who We Are Looking For:
We are seeking a dedicated Part-Time Remote Math Competition Educator to guide students through AMC10 and AIME level mathematics challenges. Ideal candidates will possess a strong understanding of mathematical concepts, be adept at preparing lessons aligned with our curriculum, and deliver engaging, age-appropriate instruction. Responsibilities include explaining complex ideas, demonstrating effective problem-solving strategies, and employing diverse teaching techniques to accommodate various learning styles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Instruct students on AMC10 and AIME competition problems through our online teaching platform.
- Effectively manage and engage an online classroom of up to 18 students.
- Prepare and present lessons utilizing Think Academy's structured curriculum and instructional guidance.
- Evaluate student homework and provide essential educational support.
- Maintain clear communication with students and parents, offering timely and personalized feedback.
- Work between 20-40 hours per week, primarily during weekends or weekday afternoons.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher; all fields of study are welcome, with a preference for education or STEM-related disciplines.
- Current students pursuing a Bachelor's degree are encouraged to apply.
- Previous experience in math instruction is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Experience in math competition coaching or participation is a plus.
- Commitment to at least two semesters of teaching is required.
- Availability to work during evenings and weekends is essential.
- A genuine passion for teaching and the education sector, along with a strong sense of responsibility and enjoyment in working with children.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a must.
Compensation Structure:
Teaching Fee: $60-$80/hour; teachers will typically handle 3-7 classes weekly.
Non-Teaching Fee: $20/hour; covers class preparation and after-class responsibilities such as grading and parent communication.
Student Retention Bonus: Up to 15% of total teaching fees for long-term classes.
