Job Title: Resident Physician

The Colorado Coalition for the Homeless is a leading organization in the prevention of homelessness and the creation of lasting solutions for homeless and at-risk families, children, and individuals throughout Colorado. As a Resident Physician, you will play a critical role in providing primary health care to individuals and families accessing care at Stout Street Health Center or other clinical sites.

Job Summary:

The Resident Physician is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals experiencing homelessness. This includes providing acute, chronic, and preventive care across the full age span, working collaboratively with the SSHC multidisciplinary integrated health team, and advocating for patients' needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct, high-quality primary medical care to people experiencing homelessness.
  • Maintain and enhance current knowledge relevant to professional practice, continually striving to improve the quality of care.
  • Embody the spirit of Motivational Interviewing, Harm Reduction, and Trauma-Informed Care with clients, providing information and choices in a non-judgmental, respectful manner.
  • Take initiative to determine ways to deliver health care in a more compassionate, expedited, user-friendly manner.
  • Maintain a work environment that values inclusiveness, diversity, and cooperation, fostering teamwork and collaboration with CCH staff.
  • Collaborate and consult effectively with all CCH staff, identifying and addressing complex issues impacting patient health.
  • Maximize community linkages, acting as an advocate for patients.
  • Provide clinical precepting opportunities for providers-in-training as scheduling allows.
  • Participate in Quality Improvement and Peer Review activities.
  • Maintain Continuing Medical Education, licensure, and CCH Credentialing and Privileging requirements at all times.
  • Deliver care across CCH sites, including outpatient clinics, mobile clinics, Stout Street Recuperative Care, street outreach, or home visits, with potential weekend/evening coverage.
Requirements:
  • Master of Science or Doctorate degree in Nursing from a program accredited by the American Nurse Association or the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
  • Current registration (or ability to obtain) in the State of Colorado as an Advanced Practice Nurse.
  • Certification as a Nurse Practitioner from the American Nurse's Credentialing Center.
  • Graduation from a program accredited by the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
  • Current licensure (or ability to obtain) in the State of Colorado to practice as a Physician Assistant.
  • Current certification with the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants.
  • Medical Degree or Doctor of Osteopathy.
  • Residents in training within the State of Colorado are eligible for a prn position.
  • Current Licensure or ability to obtain licensure in the State of Colorado.
  • Current DEA licensure.
  • Board Certified or board eligible status in physician's specialty (for individuals who have completed training).
Compensation:

$80 - $80 an hour. Compensation range depends on total relevant years of experience.
