POSITION SUMMARY: Collaborating with leadership in the Clinician Group and Organizational Development, this role involves assessing the educational requirements of both clinical and non-clinical personnel, as well as front office staff. Responsibilities include the development of educational programs, conducting research to gather the latest information on relevant topics, and delivering training to designated groups. This position evaluates the effectiveness of educational programs through analysis of participation, feedback, and assessments. The educator will also participate in workshops aimed at advancing the careers of clinic staff, provide orientation and training for staff at all levels, and supervise the learning experiences of participants in various programs. Acting as a role model for nursing staff, medical assistants, and healthcare office personnel, the educator will demonstrate and teach professional conduct. Additionally, the role includes participation in and delivery of accredited continuing education programs to enhance professional development, preparation and submission of required reports, and maintenance of records for individuals involved in educational initiatives. The educator is committed to upholding the human and civil rights of patients and staff, may engage in committee work and recruitment processes, and is expected to be available for occasional evening or weekend work based on the educational needs of the organization.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: An Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) is required, while a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.

CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: A current RN license in New Mexico and BLS certification from the American Heart Association are mandatory.

SKILLS:

  • Extensive understanding of outpatient clinic operations, principles, and practices
  • Expertise in teaching, coaching, and evaluation techniques

  • Familiarity with outpatient practice management
  • Basic knowledge of electronic medical records systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

EXPERIENCE: A minimum of three years of clinical experience, including at least one year in a leadership or educational capacity (such as lead or charge nurse), is preferred. Experience in analytics and research for at least one year is also preferred.

NATURE OF SUPERVISION:

- Responsible to: Director of Ambulatory Patient Care

ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment is clean, well-lit, and smoke-free.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The role involves intermittent physical activities such as walking, standing, and sitting, along with tasks related to patient care, occasional pushing, pulling, and lifting. The educator may need to move educational equipment and supplies as necessary for training sessions. Flexibility in scheduling is required.
