Nuclear Medicine Technologist Job Description

Holy Name Hospital is seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will play a critical role in preparing patients for imaging procedures, operating nuclear medicine equipment, and ensuring the safe handling of radioactive materials.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare patients for imaging procedures, including administering radioactive materials and positioning patients for optimal results.
  • Operate nuclear medicine equipment, including scanners and ancillary devices, to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Monitor and record radioactive materials received in the department, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient examinations, including imaging data and other relevant information.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, including reviewing patient charts and scheduling cases to optimize departmental efficiency.
  • Protect patients and staff from radiation exposure through direct visual observation and adherence to safety protocols.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Medicine or a related field.
  • Training and experience in radiation safety and protection.
  • ARRT certification in Nuclear Medicine or NMTCB certification.
  • Current NJDEP licenses in Nuclear Medicine and Limited CT Fusion.
