Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomy Specialist to join our team at the Federal Transfer Center in Oklahoma City, OK. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for providing phlebotomy services to the prison population, including collecting blood and urine samples, preparing and tracking laboratory samples, and maintaining laboratory logs and records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect blood and urine samples from inmates
  • Prepare and track laboratory samples for analysis
  • Maintain laboratory logs and records to ensure compliance with CLIA guidelines
  • Assist with patient flow in a clinic setting by measuring vital signs and scanning laboratory results
  • Organize and schedule laboratory studies, specimen collection, and processing
  • Prepare and transport specimens according to contract or Bureau of Prison Reference Laboratory guidelines
  • Ensure laboratory requests are completed properly and reports are returned from the contract laboratory
  • Acquire and maintain knowledge of Program Statement for Laboratory Services and Unit Procedures
Requirements
  • Valid Laboratory Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, or Phlebotomist certification to practice in Oklahoma
  • Experience with specimen collection, packaging, and shipment to referral laboratories
  • CPR certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
  • Ability to work in a correctional environment and wear professional attire
