About the Role

This seasonal position is part of the Indiana Department of Transportation's (INDOT) winter operations team. As a Winter Seasonal Maintenance Worker, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of Indiana's highways during the winter months.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain various types of equipment, including snow plows and traffic management systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as repairing and installing traffic signs and pavement markings.
  • Assist with snow and ice removal operations, including loading and hauling materials.
  • Participate in emergency response activities, such as clean-up and traffic control.
  • Perform equipment maintenance, including minor repairs and preventative maintenance.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) required.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physical activities for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in inclement weather conditions.
  • Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team.
