Job Summary

The Department of Rehabilitation Therapies at the University of Iowa Health Care Stead Family Children's Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Physical Therapist to join our team. As a key member of our pediatric inpatient acute care team, you will be responsible for administering treatment to patients with complex physical dysfunctions, disorders, and/or injuries, and evaluating and interpreting findings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care, evaluation, assessment, and treatment appropriate for patients' needs.
  • Evaluate and instruct patients in home treatment programs.
  • Perform routine and assigned administrative tasks in an efficient manner.
  • Participate in divisional quality/process improvement activities and recommend opportunities for improvement in service quality.
  • Attend and participate in educational programs and provide educational experiences as assigned.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and the public.
  • Perform special projects and tasks as assigned.
Requirements
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy or a Bachelor's degree in another field and a Physical Therapy Certificate is required.
  • 2 years of experience as a Physical Therapist in an acute care hospital and/or early intervention setting with a high degree of understanding and skill working with a pediatric population.
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient and family-centered care.
  • Demonstrated clinical education abilities and leadership.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience as a Physical Therapist.
  • 3+ years of experience in one or more of the following patient care specialties in acute care or outpatient setting: NICU, PICU, and/or experience in early intervention.
  • Specialized training or certification related to pediatric therapy.
  • Ability to function as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated leadership in a work or academic setting.
