Position Title: Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
Overview: The Family Nurse Practitioner will evaluate and deliver healthcare services to a designated patient population in partnership with medical doctors. The FNP will implement the established care plan for their assigned patients. This role is integral to fulfilling the mission and objectives of the specific Division/Department. The practitioner operates within the defined scope of practice in healthcare delivery. Participation in quality improvement initiatives and research activities is expected, alongside maintaining high professional standards and clinical proficiency.
Work Environment: This role is situated within a community health center that prioritizes innovation and service to the community. The center is recognized as a Federally Qualified Health Center, ensuring comprehensive primary care services are accessible to underserved populations.
Services Offered: The health center provides a broad spectrum of primary care services, including Pediatrics, Reproductive Health, and Adult/Family Medicine. Integrated services such as mental health and nutrition are also available. Special health initiatives target various community health needs, ensuring a holistic approach to patient care.
Compensation and Benefits: The organization offers support for the renewal of professional licenses and certifications, along with continuing education opportunities.
Qualifications:
- A valid New York State License as a Registered Professional Nurse and current registration to practice as an RN/NP.
- Current Nurse Practitioner specialty certification in New York State.
- A Master's degree or post-Master's Certificate in a relevant specialty is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable to the relevant authorities.
- National certification in the nurse practitioner specialty is preferred.
- Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- At least one year of experience in a primary care setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in data entry and retrieval systems.
