Job Overview

The Boys & Girls Club of Whittier Inc is seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Clinical Social Worker to join our team. As a key member, you will focus on addressing the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of children, youth, and families in our community.

This is a full-time non-exempt position that requires close collaboration with staff, parents, schools, and other community agencies to create a safe and nurturing environment for all children and teens.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the partnering school district to identify students who are struggling with attendance or participation and perform a comprehensive needs assessment.
  • Create and maintain a database of identified students to monitor weekly progress.
  • Conduct home visits to assess barriers affecting student attendance/participation.
  • Provide consultation, training, and technical assistance to families to ensure students have the necessary tools and environment to participate in learning activities.
  • Assist families in creating goals and service plans (attendance improvement plan).
  • Promote parent engagement in the educational process.
  • Maintain consistent contact with students and their families to monitor progress.
  • Provide community referrals, collaborations, and support to link families to resources addressing student/family needs.
  • Provides individual and family supportive counseling to establish good habits regarding school attendance/participation.
  • Coordinate case management with other public agencies when necessary.
  • Match students with mentors through community resources.
  • Education families on laws associated with attendance and consequences (SART, SARB, etc.).
  • Collaborate with school attendance clerks to monitor student attendance/participation; analyze and communicate attendance/participation data for identified students.
Requirements:
  • An earned bachelor's degree in social work from an accredited college or university or currently enrolled in a program for bachelor's degree in social work.
  • An earned master's degree in social work.
  • At least one year of employment in the field of social work while under the supervision and working with school-age children, or a one-year field placement in mental health setting working with school-age children.
  • A valid license as a clinical social worker issued by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences or immediate registration as an Associate Clinical Social Worker upon date of hire.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) desirable.
Hiring Requirements:
  • Clearance of Live Scan Fingerprinting, Background Check, & Drug Test prior to hire.
  • Current TB test.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Sexual Harassment & Mandated Reporter training (provided after hire).
Estimated Salary Range:

$70,000 - $90,000 per year based on experience.
