Job Summary:

The Nursing Assistant at Essentia Health plays a vital role in providing direct care to patients, ensuring their safety and comfort under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This position requires a high level of customer service skills to establish positive relationships with patients, coworkers, and others.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing personal hygiene care and assisting with nutritional needs
  • Providing comfort care and other assistance
  • Appropriately and safely transferring patients
  • Taking vital signs and completing recordkeeping
  • Recognizing and promptly reporting changes in patient condition to the RN
  • Maintaining a safe, clean environment for patients to promote the healing process

Requirements:

  • Verifiable completion of a recognized Nurse Aide training program or current registration on applicable state Nursing Assistant registry at time of hire
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification or ability to become certified within 1 month from date of hire

Essential Qualifications:

The Nursing Assistant works within job scope to meet the requirements of the Joint Commission and other applicable federal, state, and local regulatory and accrediting agencies.

Position requires high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, coworkers, and others.
