POSITION SUMMARY:
The Universal Banker is responsible for executing precise financial transactions for clients, which encompasses account openings, managing teller operations, advising clients on additional products and services, and addressing customer inquiries and concerns. Cultivate customer relationships founded on trust and propose financial solutions tailored to their requirements. Ensure a superior customer experience through effective onboarding, continuous service, and referrals. Accountable for business development and achieving growth objectives for existing clients.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support clients with daily service requests, including complex inquiries related to customer accounts and ongoing relationship management for both deposit and loan clients.
- Facilitate transfers, loan repayments, and wire transactions.
- Open new consumer accounts along with associated products and services such as online banking, mobile banking, and debit cards.
- Establish business accounts and assist in the implementation of Treasury Management products and services.
- Educate clients about all banking products and services; identify and promote cross-selling opportunities to enhance the customer's banking experience.
- Provide backup support to the teller line, accurately assisting clients with transaction processing.
- Achieve or surpass sales and referral targets while meeting individual and branch performance goals.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge and adhere to all banking financial and security regulations and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Experience: Minimum of 1 year in sales, teller operations, new account openings, or loan processing
Supervisory Experience: Not applicable
Licenses/Certifications: None required
Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; touch typing skills preferred
Additional Requirements: Detail-oriented with strong decision-making abilities. Must be capable of performing repetitive tasks involving fingers, hands, and wrists, such as typing, using a mouse, handling documents, currency, or coins, and operating a telephone. Must be able to open vault doors or lift/transfer items typical in an office setting. Familiarity with standard banking products, services, and transactions, including deposit products and credit/debit cards.
Preferred Skills/Experience: Previous experience in teller or sales roles. Strong attention to detail and accuracy; professional and courteous communication skills. Ability to cross-sell and/or refer banking products based on customer needs. Excellent oral and written customer service skills.
CUSTOMER SERVICE: A strong focus on delivering exceptional customer service; ability to collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
FINANCIAL ACUMEN: Understanding of financial terminology and practices; proficiency in mathematical calculations.
