Ultrasound Technologist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at Optum. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Produce high-quality diagnostic ultrasound images with the ability to recognize visualized anatomy and pathology following established protocols and ordered examinations.
  • Explain procedures and observe patients to ensure safety, comfort, and confidentiality during scans, keeping patients physically covered whenever possible.
  • Evaluate images for technical quality and maintain the cleanliness of ultrasound machines, transducers, and associated minor equipment in accordance with infection control policies and procedures.
  • Consistently use and reinforce proper body mechanics and appropriate personal protection equipment.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Graduation from an ultrasound program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Programs (CAAHEP).
  • Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in the specialty areas of Abdomen and OB/GYN ultrasound, or registry eligible.
