Perfusion Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Perfusionist to join our team at Albany Medical Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert care to patients undergoing cardiopulmonary bypass and ECMO procedures.

• Assist in maintaining accurate bypass records and preparing annual reports.
• Conduct product evaluations to remain current with product changes and product usage.
• Assist in maintaining a constant update of administrative procedures, perfusion library, and scientific paper library.
• Perform duties related to cardiopulmonary bypass, ECMO, autotransfusion, and related duties.
• Attend lectures, conferences, departmental meetings, and have regular meetings with the Chairman, Dept. of Anesthesiology, and the Dept. of Cardiothoracic Surgery.
• Attend regional, national, and international conferences related to perfusion and relate information to other perfusionists and others as applicable.
• Lecture on request to interested groups.
• Orient new perfusionists and instruct nurses, medical students, and others in extracorporeal circulation techniques.

• Certified by American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion.
• Minimum experience of one year.

This role may require access to information considered sensitive to Albany Medical Center, its patients, affiliates, and partners, including but not limited to HIPAA Protected Health Information and other information regulated by Federal and New York State statutes.
