Compounding Pharmacist

Pacific Compounding Pharmacy is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented pharmacist to join our team as a Compounding Pharmacist. The successful candidate will be responsible for compounding a variety of medications, including sterile, non-sterile, and hazardous preparations, in accordance with regulatory standards and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Compounding Medications:
• Prepare sterile medications, including injectables, ophthalmic solutions, and intravenous admixtures, using aseptic technique in a cleanroom environment.
• Compound non-sterile medications, such as creams, ointments, capsules, and suppositories, adhering to established compounding procedures and quality standards.
• Handle hazardous medications safely and in accordance with USP guidelines, including proper containment, labeling, and disposal practices.

Requirements

• Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited pharmacy program.
• Active pharmacist license in good standing with the state board of pharmacy.
• Completion of specialized training or certification in sterile compounding (e.g., ASHP Sterile Compounding Certificate) preferred.
• Experience in pharmaceutical compounding is preferred in a sterile compounding environment, but not required.

Working Conditions

• The role involves working in a cleanroom environment, with exposure to hazardous medications and potential allergens.
• May require standing for extended periods and lifting/moving heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).
