Sartori Cheese is a leading manufacturer of artisanal cheeses, seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical systems, pumps, process and sanitary piping, electrical, electronic, and related components.
  • Complete and communicate work orders to plant and maintenance personnel, and complete all required documentation.
  • Maintain, adjust, and perform troubleshooting of electronic components of PLC systems, AC & DC motor control systems, and electronic instrumentation.
  • Operate refrigeration equipment, including startup, shutdown, and maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and/or replace electronic components, such as RTDs, level sensors, controllers, AC & DC motors, switches, fuses, etc.
  • Fabricate repair parts or components using machine shop equipment.
  • Perform welding repairs to equipment and structural components.
  • Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock, anticipating needed parts and supplies, and placing and expediting orders.
  • Use technical support documents and materials when needed.
  • Maintain a clean work area, both in the maintenance shop and when completing work in food processing plants.
  • Comply with all company Safety and GMP policies.
  • Immediately report any food safety or quality issues to management or other authorized personnel.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years' experience in maintenance or a related field, with training certifications in the areas of the trades or enrolled and pursuing a Maintenance Apprenticeship or Electro-Mech degree.
  • Knowledge of maintenance software, including WonderWare, Ladder Logic, and Allen Bradley software.
  • Knowledge of welding techniques and equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of two, three, and four-digit numbers using units of weight measurement and counts, ratios, proportions, percentages, and geometry.
  • Ability to read and interpret work-related documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedural diagrams, wiring diagrams, layouts, and ladder logic, and carry out work instructions.
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas effectively and in a way that other team members will understand.
  • Ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions or apply general rules to specific problems.
