Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As an Ultrasound Technologist, you will be responsible for operating ultrasound equipment to perform general, vascular, and cardiac procedures/studies, accurately differentiating between normal and pathologic findings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Competently operate ultrasound equipment to perform general, vascular, and cardiac procedures/studies.
  • Accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings.
  • Review patient medical records to obtain necessary clinical information.
  • Position patients and select proper transducers and technical factors for accurate ultrasound procedures.
  • Maintain records in accordance with various regulatory agencies and enter patient and study information into the radiology information system.
Requirements:
  • Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with Abdomen issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS) needs to be obtained within 3 months.
  • Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with OB/GYN issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS) needs to be obtained within 3 months.
  • Vascular Technologist (RVT) registration issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) needs to be obtained within 3 months.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 6 months.
Working Conditions:

The Ultrasound Technologist will work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals. The position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The successful candidate will be required to lift up to 50 lbs, push/pull with 30 lbs of force, and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs with a second person present.

The position may be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards, as well as blood and body fluids, and personal protective equipment must be worn as necessary.

The Ultrasound Technologist will be required to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job, including ultrasound machines, computers, and other medical equipment.
