Job Title: Travel Nurse RN Med Surg

Prokatchers is seeking a skilled Travel Nurse RN Med Surg to join our team for a travel nursing job in Waverly, Iowa.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Travel Nurse RN Med Surg to provide high-quality patient care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. As a Travel Nurse RN Med Surg, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population and develop your skills in a variety of settings.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate total nursing care for patients, participate in patient and family teaching, and provide leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in consultation with healthcare professionals.
  • Evaluate medical information, provide direct and individualized bedside nursing care to pre-and post-surgery patients, and prepare, administer, and record prescribed medications.
  • Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs, adjust specialized medical equipment as needed, and interpret and record measurements.
  • Monitor patients' vitals and report adverse reactions to medications in a timely manner, collaborate on discharge planning with the healthcare team, and answer questions and educate patients and their families on surgical procedures and post-surgery care.
  • Maintain and update patient files, medical charts, and health records, and adhere to best nursing practices, standards, and protocols.
Requirements:
  • Med Surg experience: 2+ years (Preferred)
  • Current RN License issued by the Iowa State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC)
  • Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire
  • ACLS (American Heart Association)
