About the Role:

  • Conduct informative classes for patients diagnosed with diabetes and other chronic diseases to educate them on disease management and prevention strategies.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop personalized educational plans tailored to each patient's unique needs.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices and innovative techniques to engage patients and promote healthy behaviors.
  • Travel within the DFW area to deliver educational sessions at various clinic locations.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Associate's Degree in Nursing with 4+ years of experience.
  • An active and unrestricted RN license in the applicable state.
  • Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) designation or willingness to obtain within 3 years.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications and department-specific software.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Associate's Degree in Nursing with 4+ years of experience.
  • New Graduate Nurses currently employed by WellMed or USMD may be considered, based on market need.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with geriatric populations.
  • Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT codes related to patient education.
  • Independent problem identification and resolution skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple demands simultaneously.
