Position Title: Housing Coordinator

Location: New York, NY

Job Type: Full-time

Overview:

The Housing Coordinator plays a pivotal role in overseeing, evaluating, and coordinating supportive services, including home visits, social service referrals, entitlement management, and housing stability initiatives within the housing department. This position requires the ability to provide guidance to housing staff while delivering bilingual supportive services tailored to client needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage housing program enrollment by overseeing intake and housing referrals.
  • Facilitate onboarding and training processes for housing staff.
  • Ensure accurate maintenance of client housing records and documentation.
  • Deliver comprehensive case management services, encompassing counseling, healthcare linkages, advocacy, and entitlement management.
  • Complete all necessary documentation within established timelines, including reports and forms.
  • Coordinate care among GMHC and external service providers.
  • Monitor and verify that all contractual service deliverables are fulfilled for HOPWA and HUD housing programs.
  • Review and authorize data entries in reporting systems to comply with contract requirements.
  • Educate staff and clients on the Terms and Conditions of Tenancy.
  • Assist the Property Management Department with rent collection processes.
  • Participate in and lead case conferences with housing case managers, clients, and service providers.
  • Attend all relevant GMHC meetings and events as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Associate's Degree with supervisory experience and a minimum of 5 years of experience working with clients facing housing challenges.
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish is preferred.

Skills and Knowledge:

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • In-depth knowledge of housing resources and stability strategies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, data-driven, performance-oriented environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Extensive experience working with individuals affected by HIV/AIDS, substance use disorders, and mental health challenges.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary team.

Compensation:

Annual salary of $55,000.
