About the Role
The Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services seeks a dedicated and compassionate individual to fill the position of Caregiver II. This role involves providing direct support and care to individuals with developmental disabilities, promoting their independence and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with daily living tasks, such as personal care and nutrition
- Support individuals in making choices and decisions about their lives
- Maintain individuals' rights and dignity by adhering to applicable laws and regulations
- Provide leisure activities and transportation to appointments and recreational events
- Supervise and train Direct Care Worker I staff to ensure they provide high-quality care and support
- Oversee the health and safety of individuals, including administering medications
- Communicate with healthcare providers and accompany individuals to appointments as needed
Requirements
- Knowledge of practices and procedures to ensure the health and safety of individuals
- Ability to plan, assign, and coordinate the activities of others
- Ability to provide clear and understandable instructions
- Current and valid Class D Motor Vehicle Operator's License
