Position: Residential Counselor
The Residential Counselor is essential in providing therapeutic assistance to young children and adolescents facing social, emotional, and behavioral health challenges. Under the guidance of the Program Manager or their delegate, the Residential Counselor is tasked with the direct care and support of the youth in our program, utilizing the Building Communities of Care (BCC) Trauma Informed Care approach.
This role involves actively engaging with the youth in daily activities, facilitating group interactions, and adhering to the established daily schedule. As a key member of the interdisciplinary treatment team, the Residential Counselor collaborates closely with clinical staff to ensure that the goals outlined in individual treatment plans are effectively achieved.
The Cottage Residential program fosters an inclusive atmosphere aimed at supporting male clients (ages 6-13), irrespective of their identity, who have encountered trauma and exhibit moderate to severe mental health and behavioral issues.
Available Shift
Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED/Equivalent; an Associate's degree is preferred.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- 1-2 years of experience in working with children in a residential or similar setting is preferred.
- Completion of CPR/First Aid certification during New Employee Orientation is required.
- A valid driver's license is necessary.
