Crossing Guard

Under the supervision of the school principal, the Crossing Guard is responsible for ensuring the safety of students during the access and egress of the school grounds.

• Maintain order in the designated drop-off and pick-up areas before and after school.
• Direct children and adults in a safe and courteous manner to prevent accidents and ensure smooth traffic flow.
• Report any behavioral problems or incidents to the school principal.

• Knowledge of traffic laws and regulations applicable to school zones.
• Ability to communicate effectively with children and adults, and to maintain control of large groups in a fast-paced environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent, and some experience working with children.

• Ability to stand for extended periods, walk, and ascend/descend stairs as needed.
• Good vision, hearing, and communication skills.
• Ability to think clearly and rationally to solve problems.
