At Saia, we're committed to delivering exceptional service to our customers. As a Local City Driver, you'll play a critical role in ensuring timely and cost-efficient freight delivery within a defined geographic area.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Drive tractor trailers to deliver and pick up customer freight
  • Sort, handle, load, and unload freight at various company and customer locations
  • Plan routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries and pickups
  • Follow established pre-trip, post-trip, freight handling, and billing procedures
  • Conduct inspections by following established safety and quality control procedures
  • Retain and maintain records, forms, and load-related paperwork
  • Serve as the first point-of-contact for delivery-related issues


Requirements:


  • Class A commercial driver's license
  • Safe motor vehicle report and applicable endorsements, including hazmat, tankers, doubles, and triples
  • 1+ years of tractor trailer driving experience
  • Experience operating a forklift and pallet jack
  • Ability to lift and move objects of various shapes, sizes, and weights
