Job Summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a highly skilled Ultrasound Vascular Technologist I to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of routine diagnostic and vascular ultrasound procedures. Your expertise will be essential in providing exceptional patient care and adhering to ultrasound exam standards and guidelines established by governing agencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures, including common and special ultrasound exams, to capture high-quality images.
  • Assist physicians with diagnostic and special procedures, including sterile technique.
  • Provide accurate explanations and instructions to patients and family members at an appropriate level.
  • Follow safety standards and conduct all imaging procedures accordingly.
  • Report near misses and errors promptly into the hospital's safety reporting system.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s).
  • RDMS OB Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer OB/GYN (ARDMS) or RDMS AB Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Abdomen (ARDMS) or RDMS BR Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Breast (ARDMS) or ARRT SON Radiologic Technologist Sonography (ARRT) and ARRT VS Radiologic Technologist Vascular Sonography (ARRT) within 18 months or RVS Registered Vascular Specialist (CCI) within 18 months or RVT Registered Vascular Technologist (ARDMS) within 18 months.
  • BLS Basic Life Support (AHA).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, family members, and coworkers in a manner consistent with a customer service focus and application of positive language principles.
  • Exhibits strong interpersonal and team player skills with all levels of the healthcare team.
