We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant Scribe to join our team at Northwell Health. As a Medical Assistant Scribe, you will play a vital role in supporting our healthcare team by providing exceptional patient care and administrative support.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and implement plans for treatment.
- Enter and document patient information into electronic medical records, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Perform vital signs, height, weight, and screening procedures, documenting findings in medical records.
- Collect and assist providers in collecting specimens, adhering to infection control protocols.
- Perform daily controls and calibration of laboratory equipment, informing supervisors of inaccuracies.
- Assist physicians and nurses with special procedures and examinations, following infection control standards.
- Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of examination rooms, stocking supplies and checking equipment.
- Participate in previsit chart preparation, ensuring required lab results and documentation are available.
- High School Diploma or GED, required.
- Successful completion of a six-month to one-year course in Medical Assisting at an approved school, required.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, and ICD-9 coding, required.
