Job Title: Bus Driver
At Clay County District Schools, we are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious individual to fill the position of Bus Driver. As a vital member of our transportation team, you will be responsible for safely transporting students to and from school, ensuring their well-being and safety throughout the journey.
Responsibilities:
- Must have a valid driver's license for at least five years.
- Must have a valid Florida Class B Commercial Driver's License with Air Brakes, Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) Endorsements.
- Must have a safe driving history prior to employment, with no accumulation of points totaling 8 or more in any 12-month period within the three years immediately preceding the record search.
- Must maintain a safe driving record while employed.
- Must meet all requirements of Florida Administrative Code, Chapter 6A-3 Transportation.
- Must have a satisfactory check for drug and alcohol violations within the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse and/or any Department of Transportation (DOT) sanctioned drug and/or alcohol tests from previous DOT-regulated employers within the past two years.
- Must pass the annual physical examination as set by the Clay County School Board or the State of Florida.
- Must demonstrate understanding of operational responsibilities as prescribed in Florida Administrative Code, the Florida Commercial Driver Handbook, local laws and Clay County District Schools Policy and Procedures.
- Must complete training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid prior to transporting students, and complete CPR and first aid refresher in-service training every other year.
- Must be able to understand and follow written and oral communications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
