Key Responsibilities

The HVAC Service Sales Representative plays a vital role in driving the growth and profitability of our HVAC Service division. The selected candidate will be tasked with initiating and nurturing profitable service relationships with new clients. The primary focus will be on promoting renewable maintenance agreements as a foundational element of these relationships. This role involves collaboration with local branch teams and utilizing sales tools to track progress and identify new business opportunities.

How You Will Achieve Success

Employ a systematic and professional approach to identify, target, and qualify potential new clients; leverage market conditions and networking to discover new leads.

Engage with prospective clients and arrange meetings. Build a network of referrals to identify new business opportunities.

Conduct sales consultations aimed at uncovering key issues and challenges faced by Facility Directors in managing heating, cooling, ventilation, and control systems.

Establish a sense of urgency to address client needs and position Johnson Controls as the preferred service provider. Propose tailored solutions that leverage local branch capabilities, emphasizing renewable maintenance agreements and innovative digital service offerings focused on sustainability and decarbonization.

Understand the client's business landscape and communicate effectively in their terms.

Finalize proposals with clients and secure their commitment to Johnson Controls' solutions.

Facilitate customer kick-off meetings, address client concerns, create opportunities for further engagement, maintain service agreements, and support the collections process.

Keep management updated on progress and account status using Johnson Controls tools and other communication methods. Recognize when to seek assistance from management to maintain momentum in the sales process.

Develop and execute territory marketing strategies aligned with Johnson Controls Building Solutions business objectives. Participate in trade shows and engage with professional organizations.

Represent Johnson Controls with professionalism, adhering to the highest standards of quality, integrity, and performance.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 2-3 years of experience in progressive sales roles

Preferred:

  • Strong technical aptitude with meticulous attention to detail
  • Exceptional presentation skills, capable of engaging both individuals and groups
  • Experience in selling services and intangible products
  • Familiarity with sales methodologies and best practices
  • Bonus Qualifications include:
  • Knowledge of Building HVAC Systems
  • Relevant industry experience
  • Post-secondary education
