Piedmont Respiratory Therapist Job Description

About the Role:

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments to identify respiratory care needs.
  • Perform general and critical care respiratory procedures to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Provide specialized respiratory care for newborns, including ventilation and oxygenation management.
  • Analyze and interpret blood gas samples to inform treatment decisions.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory equipment to ensure proper function.
  • Develop and implement patient education plans to promote respiratory health and wellness.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field.
  • Previous experience in neonatal respiratory care, preferably in a NICU setting.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification.
  • State licensure as a Respiratory Therapist.
  • Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
  • Active practice in both adult and neonatal areas, with a focus on NICU care.
