About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Cath Lab Specialist to join our team at Ascension Seton. As a key member of our cardiovascular team, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our hospital.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with procedures to analyze, diagnose, and treat cardiovascular conditions, working closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and effective patient care.
  • Perform active physiological monitoring of heart rate, rhythm, pressures, and saturations, anticipating changes during cases and communicating patient condition changes to the physician and team.
  • Routinely perform patient testing and/or monitoring, including oxygen saturation, cardiac output, shunting, hemodynamic calculations, and other intra-procedure testing and resulting as applicable.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and variation of procedures, including equipment and supplies used for performance, and maintain asepsis and infection control procedures.
  • Anticipate and adapt to physician and case needs, assisting with room setup, patient transport, and post-procedure clean-up.
  • Provide patient education regarding post-procedure monitoring and care of catheter insertion site, including instructions and information regarding activity, normal, variant, and issues requiring intervention.
Requirements
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date required.
  • One or more of the following required: Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist, Cardiographic Tech specializing in Electrophysiology, or Advanced Life Support.
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience, Associate's degree/Technical degree, or 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
