Position Overview:
The Operations Technology & Process Control Manager is tasked with steering and guiding the team, ensuring the establishment and upkeep of essential site standards, protocols, and procedures necessary for a dependable Distributed Control System (DCS) that underpins safe and efficient site operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the sharing of best practices within the team to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Drive improvements in DCS capabilities and maintain a robust talent development plan for the engineering team.
  • Mentor control and DCS disciplines integrated within operational units.
  • Implement a standardized training program for Digital Systems Specialists and unit Control Engineers.
  • Oversee the consistent application of site DCS and control processes.
  • Maintain and update design standards to ensure compliance with internal policies.
  • Conduct regular peer reviews of control system maintenance and engineering practices.
  • Manage approvals for exceptions and waivers related to control system specifications.
  • Provide oversight for auditing and monitoring control system integrity.
  • Develop and maintain relevant process safety information as required.
  • Offer technical support to operations, maintenance, and engineering teams, including troubleshooting and emergency assistance.
  • Review new capital projects to ensure adherence to established standards and guidelines.
  • Anticipate future requirements for control system functionality and maintain awareness of industry standards.
  • Collaborate with IT to address security needs effectively.

Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering or a related field; an advanced degree is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in chemical, refining, or industrial manufacturing, with prior responsibility for DCS functions.
  • Proficient understanding of chemical operations, process control methods, and DCS hardware.
  • Familiarity with networking, firewalls, and industry standards such as IEEE, NFPA, ISA, and others.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, capable of motivating diverse teams.
