Mechanical Millwright

The Maintenance Millwright is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the Eagle Creek Hydroelectric Plants. This includes diagnosing malfunctions in production machinery and equipment, repairing and maintaining equipment in accordance with blueprints, schematics, operations manuals, and manufacturer specifications.

• Diagnose and repair malfunctions in production machinery and equipment
• Maintain equipment in accordance with blueprints, schematics, operations manuals, and manufacturer specifications
• Provide technical assistance and resolution for mechanical or engineering problems
• Install and maintain mechanical equipment
• Coordinate with Maintenance Manager and other personnel to identify, define, and solve developmental problems
• Assist with the written documentation and commissioning procedures for mechanical installation
• Assist with the preparation of project cost and work-time estimates
• Evaluate engineering proposals, shop drawings, and design comments for sound mechanical engineering practices and conform with established safety and design criteria
• Conduct testing and inspections for quality control and assurance programs, report findings and recommendations
• Maintain security measures at all facilities, including closing and locking of all access gates and buildings
• Address safety concerns in a timely manner, necessary to provide for safety, public safety, or asset preservation
• Comply and enforce all applicable company standards, practices, and policies
• Maintain and enforce all applicable local, state, and federal environmental permits and regulatory requirements

The Maintenance Millwright must be able to perform manual tasks including but not limited to:

• Operating hand and power tools
• Lifting at least 50 lbs
• Bending and maneuvering in tight, cramped quarters
• Working in hot, noisy, and dark environments, often alone and isolated
• Comfortability working at heights and around water
• Ability to work with and wear respiratory protection
• Reach with hands and arms above shoulder level and at shoulder level
• Walk, stand, stoop, kneel, and bend for prolonged periods of time
• Grip and manually manipulate, often in repetitive motion, items such as but not limited to hand tools and machine parts
• Read and identify labels, gauges, dials, and indicators typically encountered in performing job duties
• Possess clear and effective verbal communication in all circumstances, including emergency situations and giving/receiving instructions over a radio
