BAYADA Home Health Care is actively seeking a qualified Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) for a part-time or per diem role focusing on home health services.

This position involves providing care to adult and elderly patients in their residences.

While prior experience in home care as a Speech Language Pathologist is advantageous, it is not mandatory.

As a Speech Language Pathologist in home care, you will play a crucial role within a multi-disciplinary healthcare team, delivering rehabilitative services and skilled nursing to clients, enabling them to receive essential medical attention in the comfort of their homes.

Key Responsibilities of the Speech Language Pathologist:

  • Conduct home visits to clients within assigned geographic areas.
  • Perform comprehensive assessments to evaluate, diagnose, and provide therapeutic interventions for individuals facing challenges with speech, language, communication, or swallowing.
  • Formulate a treatment strategy based on assessments, physician directives, and established goals.
  • Regularly review and update the speech therapy care plan, collaborating with BAYADA clinicians on the multidisciplinary care approach as necessary.
  • Instruct and educate patients, their families, or other representatives on rehabilitative care and activities essential for promoting health, safety, and independent living.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of observations, interventions, and evaluations related to patient care management and services provided, utilizing advanced technology.

Qualifications for the Speech Language Pathologist:

  • A valid license as a Speech Language Pathologist in North Carolina.
  • Possession of a certificate of clinical competence in speech from the American Speech and Hearing Association, or;
  • Completion of equivalent educational requirements as indicated by academic transcripts or diplomas, along with relevant work experience, and awaiting the opportunity to take the certification examination, or;
  • Fulfillment of necessary educational and work experience requirements, as documented by transcripts or diplomas, while accumulating supervised work experience for certification.
  • Proficient computer skills; prior experience with electronic medical records (EMR) is preferred.
