Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our team at First Step. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care to our clients, promoting their independence, and ensuring their overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain a rapport with clients and other stakeholders to identify care requirements
  • Provide emotional and psychological support to clients, promoting their independence and self-care skills
  • Assist physicians with medical and psychiatric clinics, ensuring high-quality care and adherence to therapeutic standards
  • Develop and implement client care goals, teaching clients to understand their condition and self-care skills
  • Provide psychoeducational groups and ensure quality of care by measuring health outcomes against client care goals and standards
  • Document client care services, maintaining accurate records and adhering to confidentiality policies and procedures
  • Support other units as needed, maintaining a professional working relationship with all persons served
Requirements
  • APRN as issued by the Florida Board of Nursing and the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
  • Minimum of one-year general experience and/or Substance Abuse/Mental Health experience preferred
  • Strong people skills to provide excellent internal and external customer service
