Food Distribution Logistics Coordinator

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Class A CDL Delivery Driver to join our team at Performance Foodservice. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for delivering food and related products to customers on predetermined routes while ensuring safety compliance and building strong customer relationships.

About the Role

This role involves operating a tractor trailer or straight truck, performing safety checks, and maintaining accurate delivery documentation. You will drive to and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedules, unload products from trailers, transport items into designated customer storage areas, and verify delivery of items with customers.

Responsibilities

• Communicate and interact with customers, vendors, and coworkers professionally, ensuring questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner.
• Perform all required safety checks, including inspections of tractors/trucks and trailers according to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
• Report all safety issues and/or repairs required.
• Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies.
• Maintain accurate delivery documentation and complete necessary paperwork.
• Unload products from trailers, transport items into designated customer storage areas, and verify delivery of items with customers.

Requirements

• 12+ months commercial driving experience.
• Valid CDL A.
• Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years.
• Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check.
• Pass road test.
• Valid current DOT Health Card and/or able to secure new DOT Health Card.
